Patrick Henry Brady

Major General Brady spent over thirty-four years in the Army serving in duty stations all over the world. He was stationed in Berlin both before and after the construction of the Berlin Wall.

During two tours in Vietnam, he flew over twenty-five hundred combat missions and helped rescue over five thousand wounded men, women, and children—enemy and friend alike. He developed foul-weather and tactical techniques for air ambulance rescues never before or since executed in combat. For these contributions, he is identified in the Encyclopedia of the Vietnam War and other texts as the top pilot of that conflict.

Brady earned over eighty-five medals—sixty-five combat related as well as twelve for valor—and is widely recognized as the most highly decorated living veteran. General Brady is a member of the Army Aviation Hall of Fame and is the first and only Army aviator in the National Aviation Hall of Fame.
