John B. Ruane is an author, journalist, and playwright. He has written for the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, and Atlanta-Journal Constitution. He is a critically-acclaimed author of four books, including The Earl Campbell Story (ECW Press, 1999) and Parish the Thought (Simon & Schuster, 2008). Ruaneās stage work began at the famed Second City theater in Chicago. He then went on to write four critically-acclaimed satirical sketch comedy revues and a rock-musical play. During college, John was an English major, wrote a column for the school newspaper, and played center on two college hockey championship teams. Later, he volunteered his time to coaching fifty-two youth sports teams over a seventeen-year period. He and his wife, Charlotte, have four wonderful children
