EMPIRE'S END now in dead-tree and electronic formats!
« on: April 28, 2011, 01:08:17 PM »

The dead refuse to stay dead. The Reaper is here to put them down.

As winter sets in and America’s survivors struggle to rebuild a semblance of civilization, terrifying new enemies are gathering—both in the lawless badlands and within the walls of the safe zone. Most fearsome of all is the “King of the Dead.” His zombified troupe of sideshow curiosities is but a fraction of his growing pack.

The Reaper’s quest to safeguard the humans he has befriended places him on the trail of these feral undead. But he is sorely unprepared for the return of the zombie transformed by his own flesh, the Omega—a fiend driven by something more sinister than any virus.

Meanwhile, Death’s questions about his origin haunt him, and he is close to the answers... but the worst of both the living and the dead are rising in his path, and he’ll have to cut them all down to reach the cosmic endgame.

"Everything a sequel should be--bigger, faster, gorier, and the zombie characters are the creepiest yet. It's a fantastic return for the Reaper."
-Peter Clines, author of EX-HEROES

"A powerful new chapter in an epic series of zombie thrillers. Endlessly entertaining."
-Jonathan Maberry, NY TIMES bestselling author of PATIENT ZERO and ROT & RUIN

"More than just a solid sequel to an excellent zombie novel; it surpasses its predecessor with a deeper look into a world filled with dark magic and vivid characters, both living and dead. Dunwoody manages to make Death a sympathetic character and his zombies are some of the scariest around."
-Patrick D'Orazio, author of COMES THE DARK

"Let the Reaper be your guide in this epic entry in the Empire series. David Dunwoody once again delivers the goods with this post apocalyptic masterpiece."
-Timothy W. Long, author of THE ZOMBIE-WILSON DIARIES

how much more would it cost to have the velvety bits with a shiny bit in the middle? is it an all-or-nothing thing?

the reason i ask is because i saw a book called Th1rteen R3asons Why that has a cover like that, and it's pretty freaking cool-looking. i think the Reaper on this cover would be tits if it was slick and shiny where the rest was velvety.

From a couple of recent reviews: Target Audience magazine calls EMPIRE'S END a "great gruesome zombie tale from start to finish!" And Horror Book Club says: "The reaper is a unique take on zombie fiction and [Dunwoody's] prose is entertaining."

Great googly moogly….I this is a fantastic start to a book.  The litmus test for me to genuinely love a book is when my eyes dart to the clock and I quickly calculate how late I can stay up and still get enough sleep to function the next day.
