Yes, I'd read The Zombie Survival Guide as many times as the next guy, but my whole Z-Plan revolved around -not- getting close enough to the deadheads in order to fight them in hand-to-hand combat. No thanks. Just stay the hell away and put one between their eyes from a safe distance.

that was some good rejoicing. can we see that on the instant replay?

*zip, zip, zip*

there we go. first the arms come up, all together. there's a clap. and another. and here the mouths go, opening in song. and . . . wait for it . . . there! a seizure.

total rejoice.

all done @ 107k.

it's off to the beta-readers!

I have many things I could say about this story, but I think I can sum it up best by saying:
Damn good read.

The last time I cried, cussed, and laughed during a story was back in 1996, I believe it was, while reading The Green Mile. Thom, you created a world so unbelievably believable, I got so swept up in it that half the time I forgot I was supposed to be checking for mistakes and whatnot. The characters became like old friends; their temperaments and personas exuding such depth and richness, I hated to see the story end.

Which is something considering it's over 100,000 words.

I don't want to say any more, lest I spoil it for the rest of you. But do try and pick this one up once it's out; you won't regret it.

And if you do regret it, you clearly read the wrong book. Return it and buy the correct one. Lords of Night by Thom Brannan.

  Well done Gren, well done.
