I'm tired. The day job is taking a toll. Only 8 more school days and then a nice holiday break where I can get back to what I do best. Or at least top 5 best.

Got books to write. Only one left in the hold.

But I'm so very tired.

And thanks for stopping by Lord Anubis.

Got a major decision to make about the next book.

It may certainly be the most mainstream dark fiction novel I might ever write. It has great potential, but I'm seriously considering a return to self publishing. That move would be illogical at this point in my career, but it's the direction my instincts are driving me toward.

Logic has never been my strong point. And I've always tried to trust my instincts.

I want to have this decision made for the start of 2012. After that, there's no going back.

Merry Christmas everyone.

5 days into my holiday break but haven't written a lick. That's  O.K. though. All but made the decision to self-publish my next novel and I'm looking forward to all the challenges that go along with it. I'm not 100% convinced it's the right way to go, but I'm ready to apply everything I've learned in the past decade to make my 5th novel the best of the bunch. We'll see.

Christmas brought me a nice supply of iTune gift cards, so I'm looking to further expand my music library, then return to writing with a bevvy of fresh tunes. Been writing to music so long there's no going back to creating in silence.

Hope the whole world had as nice a Christmas as I did.

Now to flip all this wonderful positive energy into the darkness I need...

And just like THAT it's a new year! Hello 2012!

Time to get to work. Time to take at least another step toward the goal of being a full-time writer. Time to continue pouring my best efforts into the latest book project. Soon it will be time to sell more dang books.

Gotta love being a writer. Lord knows I do.

Oh, I guess I will win the "Odd Guy" Award here, but I *have* to write with some noise around me. Since I write better on nights, I have to rely on the good old TV (any movie, preferably) but the voice of the family engaging in a discussion is best. Its like all that energy flows towards me and I produce my best pages in the middle of this scenario. Silence is when I like to chill and not doing nothing :)

Wanderer, I almost always write to music, usually non-vocal jazz, but it depends on what kind of scene it is. For instance, I love writing action scenes to music from The Matrix film series. I used to write in silence way back when I was in high school/college. Those days are long gone...ha ha ha.

As for being "odd", I don't seem to follow any of the writing processes of my fellow writing group members. Whatever works works...smile.

Told a horror loving buddy the plot of my upcoming graphic novel. He stared at me and called me a "sick sick bastard".

Good sign that I'm on track.

Rod Sterling inspired me back into sales mode. Hope to sell this last 1/2 box of Pandoras by the end of the week. And with MLK day off, can get some additional writing done.

Loving the fast start of 2012.

The days of selling books from the trunk of my car is just about over until the spring.

Thank God.

It's Super Bowl weekend & it serves to remind me that in order to be great, one must aim for the highest goals possible. I've settled wayyyyyy to often. Time for me to actually RUN the race instead of being content to enter and just finish. Time to find out if I can be a champion.

The more I learn, the more I plan, which seems to make the publishing waters all the more murky... I'm hunting for an agent, trying to re-kindle some Hollywood interest in my Butcher Bride, and wondering where my career is headed in 2012.

Then again, my confidence in my abilities to entertain with the written word is always skyhigh.

One step at a time. Stay patient. There's no going backward.

Only forward.

No matter how long it takes.

Writing, writing, writing...

and still selling a few books. But it's really nice to be back to writing.

Mostly.

Well, a bit of this and that swirling...

Temporarily shelved the superhero novel to go back and re-work Good Night My Sweet for possible agent. Given myself 3 weeks to re-write and take the book to another level.

We'll see.
