I'm now 2 books ahead of myself, and working on number #3, and starting to plan number #4. I had a goal to put out 5 new novels in the next 5 years, but I might actually revise that notion. Perhaps instead of shooting to have a book published once a year, I can squeeze that down a bit to maybe 9-10 months. I can make much more $$$ that way while really not having one novel's sales infringing on the next. I'm currently writing stand alone books, not a series, so I'm enjoying the newness of each project along with honing my skills with each effort.
I'm so happy with my writing right now. There's no pressure to write a vampire or a zombie novel, though I'm strongly considering a zombie project after the current dark superhero thing I'm working on now. There's just so many vamp and living dead books out now, I just feel like, why add to the pile when I can stir the pot of my imagination a bit more and bring something different to the table for readers.
Like an original dark superhero novel. There's plenty of time for fangs and dead flesh down the road. Then again...
