ONE HUNDRED reviews on Amazon.

Ninety-three of them are four star or better.   :D

What's even cooler than that?

Hearing that Nathan Fillion loves Ex-Heroes:doublethumbsup:.

Context, please.

What percentage of books out less than a year get 100 reviews?

I'm guessing that would be a small number.  Perhaps a single digit?

Actually, Frank, that's a good point.  I have no idea if these numbers are average, unusual, rare... maybe even low.  It feels like it should be high, but I'm basing that off half-memories of perusing Amazon over the years.

If memory serves, the book came out in late February of last year, so just over thirteen months.  A bit under eight reviews a month.  I know DBDA2 has piled on about four times as many reviews in maybe half that time.  And Crusoe's been out since September and is still in single digits.

Anyone got some better estimates to crush my pride... :)

I think that it's pretty impressive that you have no 1 star reviews. Even some of the best stuff that I've read usually has a couple of haters spewing venom and dropping the 1 star.
My personal favorite is the guy who gave you a 3 star review while admitting that he didn't read the book. What the hell is that?

no, my "what, what?" was more for Cap'n Mal than the reviews. i was noting the other day that the book had 97, and here you are with the three digits.

Thom, I figured as much.  I was just being a smart ass.   ;)

Jacob, hmmmm... well, I don't know if it's book-worthy, but apparently he finished the book around lunchtime and found it somewhat entertaining...

My buddy Ilya (who got a character named after him and is thanked in Ex-Heroes) is working on Castle right now and told me Thursday that Nathan Fillion had the book on his iPad and was loving it.  Getting a tweet out to his 800,000+ fans is just frosting on the cake.

Very deep, rich frosting...

I met a friend today at the local bookstore (you know the one), and I mentioned Ex-Heroes.  He went ape-s**t.  He loved the book and how you handled the superhero/zombie thing.  He picked it up off his Kindle on a whim.  Anyways, he wanted me to pass on how much he loved it . . . and so I am.

Would it be that Mysterious bookstore over on Clairemont...?  :)

When you see him next, tell him I'm thrilled to hear he liked it.  Hopefully he finds Ex-Patriots just as ape-inducing.  :)

Yep, it would be.  He's worked there on and off over the years (though he's not at the moment).  He's the one who turned me on to, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN.
