We have a guest blogger who wants to read this and review.

Fellow is from Belgium so random question here....is he able to buy an e-book version without running into some weird copyright problems?

Never download US e-books onto European e-readers, they are incompatible and the resultant conflict will cause a fatal malfunction, possibly permanently damaging your device and the user!

I'm not sure if there's any conflict, provided it's a reputable seller.  I recently discovered one site out of Sweden selling pirated ebooks... but their site mysteriously vanished after I placed a phone call...

It looks like there's a Kindle version available through Amazon UK.  Review away!

(...please, for God's sake, somebody review it!  Just throw a few likes up on Amazon or something...)

I think amazon.fr is what he uses...I don't think it will be a problem is uk has it.

I threw a like up there for you Pete (only three so far? WTF???), and when I'm finished reading this I will gainfully attempt to put out a review as good as those penned (electronically valid?) already.

Well I am almost finished with "Hok the Mighty" from Manley Wade Wellman and then it is time to start on your tale. I look forward to terror, the skin-crawling kind.

I have finished reading this, if I didn't know better I would say it was Defoe who wrote the whole thing. Seriously, you captured his voice perfectly. Your variation on the story was well crafted and set me down on a Carib island 300+ years in the past.
The lycanthrope aspect was very interesting since he describes it all with the, "seeing things through a smoky lens," effect and his sometime feeling of helplessness at events. I also found the way Crusoe and his "beast" grew more in synch the longer he was on the island. I also found it interesting that the island affected him differently than it did the other European types. The Friday character was something else, I liked the sword scene even more since you did it in Legos. I'm going to have to dig out some more words without giving spoilers - I always hate when reviewers do that. I'll be pimping this quite a bit more to my InfernalNet friends and aquaintances.

Many, many thanks, Wardog.  Very glad to hear it worked for you and you liked it.  It took me months to get the voice down, and then it took me months to get rid of it, to be honest. :)

And, yeah, I did realize there was a danger of people picturing the whole thing in LEGO once I started doing select scenes that way.  Glad you're liking that, too.  :D

Finished the book not long ago. I don't have a comparison to original Defoe style since I've read his book in school back in Poland.

But it holds the ground. It is being told with the language and manner characteristic for that time. Lycantrophy and influences of the dark good are a nice addition, otherwise I probably wouldn't finish it since I know the story. I like reading about survival and I'm a big fan of werewolves too. Everything was here. I think you have a knack for selling "eerie" stuff. This thing that it's hard to describe and that was present of every page of 14. It's not gory, scary is also not accurate word. Good stuff. It won't beat Tooth and Nail or 7 habits in my personal list of books, but still good read.

Many thanks, Saladyn.  Yeah, I know it's nowhere near as kick-ass as Tooth and Nail, but I've always been kind of proud of it.  My goal was to try to write an early eighteenth-century horror novel with a lot of creepy subtext rather than blatant gore, and it sounds like you (and a few other folks) have enjoyed it for that.   :)

If you've got the time and wouldn't mind, it can always use another review on Amazon (honest as you like).  Heck, I think one more knocks it up into double digits...  ;)

Of course it's a matter of personal choice. De gustibus if you prefer. I'm not reading books to have some sort of ranking but some are closer to my dark heart ;)

It's great when author can send a chill through my spine without throwing a bucket of guts (usually the opposite effect). I owe you a review so I will post one soonish. I think with this book and 14 behind me it's time to reach and grab two other novels. About heroes... and stuff :)
