It seems to have healed with a bit of a lump to it. I'm hoping that's scar tissue, and not foot cancer, lol. If it IS foot cancer I'm gonna start smoking again to distract it.

The War of the Worlds: Chapter 15 is now up!
"One may picture, too, the sudden shifting of the attention, theswiftly spreading coils and bellyings of that blackness advancingheadlong, towering heavenward, turning the twilight to a palpabledarkness, a strange and horrible antagonist of vapour striding uponits victims, me...n and horses near it seen dimly, running, shrieking, falling headlong, shouts of dismay, the guns suddenly abandoned, menchoking and writhing on the ground, and the swift broadening-out ofthe opaque cone of smoke. And then night and extinction--nothing buta silent mass of impenetrable vapour hiding its dead."

The War of the Worlds: Chapter 16 is up!
"People were fighting savagely for standing-room in the carriages even at two o'clock. By three, people were being trampled and crushed even in Bishopsgate Street, a couple of hundred yards or more from Liverpool Street station; revolvers were fired, people stabbed, and the police...men who had been sent to direct the traffic, exhausted and infuriated, were breaking the heads of the people they were called out to protect."

Chapter 17: The "Thunder Child" is now posted!
"But no one heeded that very much. At the sight of the Martian's collapse the captain on the bridge yelled inarticulately, and all the crowding passengers on the steamer's stern shouted together. And then they yelled again. For, surging out beyond the white tumult, drove so...mething long and black, the flames streaming from its middle parts, its ventilators and funnels spouting fire."

It was a night when two titans of my childhood faced each other across rival networks...but who won?

Some updates on life, work, NFP, and my writing. It's quite long, but like the title says: I'm a Ramblin' Man...
I included some of the stuff we have planned for NFP in the next year. None of this is official until it hits the shelves, but I thought there might be some interest in what we're up to.

Since I haven't had a decent blog post in a while, I decided to show how I get my stories from point "eh!" to point "zed". Complete with examples and the first 300 words or so of an untitled novella I'm working on. Feel free to share the things that work best for you!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what is the one thing you would take with you?
Check out a review of Timothy W. Long's funny and surprisingly deep romantic zombedy: The Zombie-Wilson Diaries!

I had a chance to blog about my first day as a reporter for the Claresholm Local Press. It involved a lot of me nodding my head and taking notes. To see what else went on, check out my blog!
