One more thing: whatever happened to the man that was infected like Milton? Will he ever show up again? I thought he would in the first book, but you left him a loose thread. I would be interested to see that tied up.
A resounding
mm-hmm. I immediately began wondering about this fellow as I completed the novel. With Kim's Biblical knowledge and the allegory in D2L, I couldn't help wondering about this guy and where he'll ultimately fit in, and what it might call to mind from the Good Book. That invites a lot of speculation and I won't bother with it, but I definitely hope to see what's become of this gentleman and how he compares/contrasts to Milton. That's probably my big "Me wantee!" for D2L2.
I think one way of characterization is to take strong characteristics and split them among several main characters.
I like this idea a lot and try to use it, especially when the main characters are at times used to represent different sides of a thematic discussion. I think you did this with great success in D2L - I'm in awe of the way you carry on that discussion without disrupting plot or sacrificing action - and I look forward to a new discussion that brings aboard some strong new characters.
