One more thing: whatever happened to the man that was infected like Milton?  Will he ever show up again?  I thought he would in the first book, but you left him a loose thread.  I would be interested to see that tied up.

A resounding mm-hmm. I immediately began wondering about this fellow as I completed the novel. With Kim's Biblical knowledge and the allegory in D2L, I couldn't help wondering about this guy and where he'll ultimately fit in, and what it might call to mind from the Good Book. That invites a lot of speculation and I won't bother with it, but I definitely hope to see what's become of this gentleman and how he compares/contrasts to Milton. That's probably my big "Me wantee!" for D2L2.

I think one way of characterization is to take strong characteristics and split them among several main characters.

I like this idea a lot and try to use it, especially when the main characters are at times used to represent different sides of a thematic discussion. I think you did this with great success in D2L - I'm in awe of the way you carry on that discussion without disrupting plot or sacrificing action - and I look forward to a new discussion that brings aboard some strong new characters.

I agree with some of hte others regarding the other one infected like Milton.  It would interesting to see this man be the Yang to Miltons Yin. 

Considering the level of power that it sorta has, being able to walk freely among the undead...and how it seemed to be able to expand from the undead moving from them them to Milton herding them.  It makes me wonder if at some point control over them is possible.


I loved the book and look forward to a sequel.

Jacob's been trying to weedle the D2L2 teaser out of me. Chapter one mostly gets people up to speed on stuff from D2L, so I don't see much hard in it (in the sense of spoilers). I'll have it in the next couple days.
