oh, well, being in labor is about the only time a vist to the hospital and filling out forms may have a good outcome. The forms for the hospital and funeral home when my dad died - sheesh. I must've signed my name 100 times. And the really funny part? (Funny weird, not funny ha-ha.) I think to pull the plug on life support (which turned out to be unnecessary, as he passed while I was deciding) - that was about 1/10 as many signatures as all the stuff saying I'd assume financial responsibility and pay for any outstanding bills. And my god the funeral home guy - really didn't have the shtick down well. "Not to rush you in your time of hardship, but do have the first installment ready? Not that there's any rush or anything. You take your time." [hour later, same message on the machine, an hour after that, the same message to my friend with whom I was staying, then an hour later the same message to me after I'd cleaned out the bank account and was ready to write the damn check] - enough dude!
So yes, the bureaucrats are the bad guys, aren't they?
