Yep, end of CH 23. Great moment. In fact, lots of great stuff in that chapter. And in the one before it, you introduce a pretty interesting character; can't wait to see what you do with him.

Really liking it, Kim!

ah, the one in Ch 22 turns out to be a cameo - staging the huge zombie attack to include everyone got to be distracting to the intimate feel I wanted for all the characters and their interactions. As my betas noted, there are just so many people who need eating in this one!

Thanks, Lain! It's a great read, so it's fun to edit. I had to take a short break to finish another project, but I'll be back on it by the end of this week.

Heheh, there is a reason why you are the demigod of this forum-you haz the power to transition between projects so seemlessly. ;) You are an inspiration to lazy bums like me to get cracking on those words. :D

Id like to know what truly is involved in editing a book like this?  How long it takes etc etc.

well, at a lesser publisher, it might only be a copy edit (and it might not be a good one, either)

With Snell, it's a thorough read, not just for grammar, style, and punctuation (though those are meticulously checked) but also for continuity, flow, and possibly better arrangements of the material.

That's how I see it from my end, as author

Thanks for the kind words, Kim.

51,617 words edited. Just finished CH 25--a horrible, horrible revelation in that chapter.

(checks which one)

Ah, I thought it'd be the one a couple chapters later (they come at our main characters all about the same time).

As I think about those two revelations, they both have to do with the living and the zombies distancing themselves from normal, emotional responses, and living with just cold calculation, and the psychic damage that'd cause both groups. The resolution comes when the one character who's succumbed to all the temptation in the book regains her emotional compass. Or that's what I was trying for.

I know exactly which character you're talking about. But by resolution, do you mean resolution of the theme, or of the novel? Because for the novel, I could easily see her resolution resulting in the climax.

oh, definitely both. Two of the character trajectories intersect and that's when the plot can be resolved (and the theme)
