I do what I can.  Patterns are one of my hobbies.

Would you consider yourself an idiot savant of pattern recognition?

no offense bro...but patterns doesn't really sound like a fun hobby.

To each their own I guess  ;D

works in vegas, and in coding.  For the most part I can see patterns, but wasn't catching this one - guess not around enough.

I'd say more idiot than savant, but what the hell.

I used to program group accesses, and I've decoded several brands of MP3 player's random functions....  (my friends think it's creepy when I can predict what song comes next on RANDOM)...

I still haven't figured out the iPod yet, but that's just because I haven't cared to look.

Update:

The rules of the color game at Permuted have shifted.  I no longer see the correlation....  An interesting group of people are red, as are the blues....  And Doug is BOLD...  Damn, how do you get to be BOLD....

As for the iPod, it uses at least three different random algorithms to "shuffle songs" that I can tell.  Each time you start a set or start a set over, a different algorithm is used...  They're good, I've had real trouble with that one.

Yeah?  And what colour am I?  Hehehee.

As for the iPod, one of the freakiest sets I have happening now on the iPhone when I play music, if it comes across a song of "x" name and "artist" it plays ALL versions of that song.  (I have one song that has 7 different variations/mixes of the same song by the same artist, and it plays them ALL if it plays one.)

Technology is fun...

Further proof that it's just an algorithm.

Oddly enough, on all the computers I have used to access the forum, everyone's name is just plain orange.  The skulls change as described, though (unles you're in the PIT so and don't have skulls) (somehow that doesn't sound right).

For some reason I am reminded of the gent who refused to participate in his occupational therapy exercise of painting flowers--he liked them the colors they were already.
