That was an awesome version! Lady Macbeth was so, so... creepy in that one. To me at least.
Another great Polanski.... The Ninth Gate!!! I watch that repeatedly.

Rupert Thomson's DREAMS OF LEAVING.... One of those character-driven gems that leaves the reader feeling mournful, on finishing the book, cos the characters seem so real, and so part of your everyday life.

Wonderful, wonderful book.

Makes you wonder... Would Macbeth have done the things he did if not for the witches? And shouldn't they be punished for their divinations? I think that is why I like this play so much. It shows the evil within a person's being and how it only takes a string of words, or one small action to unleash that.

I've read a few books that I like so much I rarely recommend them to anyone.  It's like giving away a special gift or something when I tell someone about them.
