Plague of the Dead
« on: May 23, 2009, 04:47:40 AM »

I checked the other threads, but they were a bit dated. Anyone else reading 'Plague' right now? If so would love to share thoughts. I started last night and am about 100 pages in. Awesome stuff so far! In some ways it's reminiscent of 'World War Z', which is not a bad thing at all.

Read it when it first came out and again when The Morning Star Strain came out. They are both pretty good books. I loved the different characters and how they came together in both of the books. I am looking forward to the third book.

Hope you finished & enjoyed it. =)

Personally, I think it's crap, and the guy who wrote it should be tarred and feathered and driven out of town. The butthead. Yeah.

I have Thunder and Ashes, along with the second in the Twilight of the Dead series. Both of the first books of these respective series were excellent. Adkins seemed to get a little more personal with his protagonist, whereas Plague of the Dead was a more 'epic' in feel.
Haven't read either yet, other books burning my midnight candle.
But yeah, you can tell the author of 'Plague of the Dead' is a total dick. I hope he dies in a car fire.

If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Dude, once, I saw him push a baby carriage down a large, winding set of stairs. Wow. The gall of some people. And it didn't just have a baby in it! It also had kittens!

(Seriously, though, thanks for reading!)

I would love to come. I could even overcome my trepidation concerning large crowds to be there. It's the Mecca of zombies.

And that's why we love her.

edit: I seem to be getting poked a lot lately. Maybe I shouldn't be wearing a shirt with a bulls-eye on it.
