I still like it well enough. Just reeling from the Paris Hilton episode. It's pretty shocking.

i liked that one. it made a bit of sense, especially if the old gods are "fueled" by worship.

I don't know Thom. Is she worshiped or is she a curiosity? An athlete, actor, musician etc....they are worshiped and admired.

People like Paris or simply a highly viewed narcissistic train wreck. Did she add anything to the show or did she just do that stupid grin and say "awesome." Cool story line for sure. Just would have been a lot better with a character representing someone like Bill O'Reily.

adulation takes all forms. how many trends did she set? i find that it holds water. though, it the monster had been smart, it would have taken the form of Justin Bieber.

That depends on your definition of "worship". We define it these day6s as love and admiration, but the basic meaning of the word is "to give worth", which can be done in a positive or negative way. The Greeks, for example, worshiped their gods but had no illusions about what a bunch of supernatural pricks they were (in fact, they were smart enough to conclude that if there were gods at all, then the only way the world made sense was if they were a bunch of pricks).

Same thing with the Hiltons and Kardashians. People may hate 'em, but they keep paying attention to 'em.

That is a very good point.

In Socrates' "Apology," he argues that the gods must be the embodiment of the virtues humans most aspire to. He concludes that the scandalous stories of popular religion cannot reflect the true nature of the gods.

I suppose you could ammend your statement to, "in fact they were smart enough--except for guys like Socrates..."

Yes, I'd read The Zombie Survival Guide as many times as the next guy, but my whole Z-Plan revolved around -not- getting close enough to the deadheads in order to fight them in hand-to-hand combat. No thanks. Just stay the hell away and put one between their eyes from a safe distance.

My favorite Supernatural episodes are the ones where Sam and Dean come across the Supernatural series of novels... and the resultant "Slash fan fiction."

"They... know we're brothers, right?"

Oh, and the one they were trapped in "TV land" was great too.  CSI Miami, Perfect Strangers, Grays Anatomy... all finely punctured.

ROB WINS~!!!11

i plan on getting the last three episodes of season seven as soon as i get home, because that's where i'm up to. i heard there is now a season eight in the works, so yay! what are they gonna do?!

i bought season one years ago. i'll probably get the rest, whenever Feby stops freaking out when we use the TV for anything else but Bubble Guppies or Yo! Gabba Gabba! so i can get my marathon on. on on.

So the finale came and went.

I know the title of this says spoilers (pardon, spoilerz), but since it seems none of you bastards are caught up yet, I think what happened last night might be a little too much to give away. Only thing I'll say right now is it was a decent wrap-up with a decent cliffhanger. STILL doesn't beat the Sam-jumping-into-the-Pit finale (I forget which season that was. 5, I think).

By decent wrap-up I mean, "Damn you, Supernatural writers! DAMN YOU!" and by decent cliffhanger I mean, "Oh...shit...well that's not good at all..."
