Hey, I don't know why this wasn't announced over here, but I feel like bragging on behalf of my bud Z Recht for his book PLAGUE OF THE DEAD making the list of the 37 Greatest Zombie Triumphs! (According to OFFICIAL XBOX MAGAZINE)
The magazine is a special collectors edition that was released in March, and I was given a copy by special request because I asked my family if they happened to come across it, BUY IT FOR ME! (It costs $10) Plague of the Dead is listed as #26, and there were only 4 other books that even made the list:
#32 The Dead Shall Inherit The Earth by Vince Churchill
#30 The Rising by Brian Keene
#19 The Serpent and the Rainbow by Wade Davis
#13 Infected by Scott Sigler
All the rest of the list was comprised of video games and films. I say it is an amazing feat to even recieve this sort of recognition due to the fact that Permuted is a small indie POD press, but I guess it could be said that there's some benefits to having your books found on the shelves of B&N and Borders Bookstores! Well, aside from the fact that Z's books are totally kickass and deserve every bit of praise and recognition they get! Kudos to Jacob too for the accomplishment. I just thought it was weird that this wasn't announced somewhere over here yet. So, if you don't know, NOW YOU KNOW! Get yourself a copy before they disappear!
I LOVE YOU Z, and you might be too humble to brag, but as always I'm NOT! LOL! CONGRATULATIONS BABY!

BTW, those aren't my pics. I snagged them from JJ Melzer who notified Jacob who then contacted Z about his making the list! I'm just passing on the news so that we can all celebrate this victory together!

Thank you for posting this, Robin. I was so excited over this that I immediately forgave them for misspelling my name.  I know it's just one list, with one guy's (and his friends' and coworkers') opinions, but still--to be ranked among the greats is a good feeling. Thanks for the congratulations, folks! Means a lot. |
