I love this idea. This is the kind of thing that can only really be done with serial fiction.

I may be a geek, (actually, there isn't much maybe about that

) but I have to say that it is really a privilege to be able to communicate with an author about his/her book! To think that maybe my wishes will have some sort of impact on his/her story. In my book that is awsome. See, I told you I was a geek.

I would also imagine that this works pretty well for the authors because they can get a certain amount of feedback about what the reader wants, and I suppose this is great, as long as the author still writes the sort of stories he/she wishes to write, and doesn't begin to only cater to the reader.
In the Empire series there are a lot of things that the readers (or me anyway) still doesn't understand yet, like Death (what is he doing running around among the living), and that guy with all of the zombie helpers (there is something almost supernatural about that fellow). It adds a level of mystery to the story so that you feel you have to keep reading to find out what is going on with these characters. Since I still don't understand what is going on with these fellows I can't give much of an oppinion, except "Thanks for giving me something to look forward to in the next installment"
On a side note:
I am thinking of doing a little sketch of Grinning Samuel (he would make an interesting image) and I was wondering if you would mind if I posted it when it is done. If you would like I could send it to you first in a Personal Message so that you could have a look before it gets posted. Thanks again for a great read!
