Bigfoot War
« on: June 14, 2010, 06:00:05 AM »

I hope you guys who like my work will pick up a copy of Bigfoot War.  The reviewers at SFReader.com, Flames Rising, Dread Central, and Sonar 4 all seem to think it may be my best yet.  I know it's a deeply personaly and fun book for me.  Please drop by www.amazon.com and snag a copy.
Thanks in advance,
ESB

I finished Bigfoot Wars last night and loved it! I'm thinking it would make a fantastic movie!  GREAT JOB, Eric!

Sharin' an old review on an old thread:

Quote
Eric S. Brown has taken a classic trope - the small, isolated town under seige - and brought game to it like he was going for the championship.

Word of warning - this novella is BRUTAL and BLOODY and will be the basis for more than a few nightmares.

But hey, we're in the horror section. This isn't implications or hints or shadows out of the corner of eyes. Eric tells us that in his forward. This is all out assault. Hell is coming, and it's running at 45 miles an hour and can punch your head straight off your shoulders!

Gore, tension, atmosphere - it's all there. But the hooks? The characters in this story. With merciless precision, he hones each of the townsfolk into real people. Folks you can like, can care about.

Which makes the violence of the bigfoots so much more horrifying. You invest in these people, care about them, and you feel for them, and their losses.

Raw carnage is one thing, but carnage against people you like, you know, you care about - that's what leaves your heart breaking, and your mouth dry with each explosion of brutality.

I read this tale of terror and titans in the space of an afternoon, and when it was done... I wanted more.

Special side kudos to Eric - I recognise a lot of the people in the epilogue - Dunwoody, Kody, West...
