Yeah, this review is really stupid. I’m not going to give any reason for my opinion, just that it almost plagiarizes all the other stupid reviews out there.
You know, I read this article by renowned literary critic Harold Bloom in which he attacks Stephen King and J.K. Rowling. His basic premise is that both are idiots, and his only significant evidence is that, in one book, Rowling repeats the phrase, “He stretched his legs,” whenever a character goes for a walk. Sure, I’m biased because I like King and Rowling, but I’m open to criticism against their work--as long as it is factual and not just a tirade. Bloom gave no persuasive evidence to prove his case that, indeed, King and Rowling are ineffectual writers. He sure as hell didn’t convince me.
And this review of The Dead, a review that criticizes solely the title of the book . . . well, that’s a disservice to the writer and the readers. That one star out of five means nothing because the review lacks any proof to justify the rating. It rings like that Harold Bloom article: empty and completely dismissible.
