I was a big comic reader in my teens and in my Navy days (some of the places I was stationed, reading a comic book was as exciting as it got ).  I loved, freaking LOVED Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing.  I still have the originals, read so many times they're falling apart.  I still remember going down to the 7-11 after school every week, hoping the new issue had come out.  That got me onto a Moore jag, and I bought and read everything by him I could get my hands on.

For the last ten years or so I've cut back to mainly TBs.  Some of my favorites, in no particular order:

Preacher
The Boys (actually I did/do buy this monthly - sort of.  My local comic book store is a bit... irregular)
Fables
Ex Machina
The Walking Dead (of course)
Y: The Last Man

I have heard good things about all of the titles you list except the Boys...I haven't heard of the Boys. Worth checking out?

Last summer I read all the Preacher trades for the first time and loved the series! I basically read Image titles and I think Garth Ennis is doing one now or will be.
