If we're on the big monster theme I'd like to add Food of the Gods to my list of desired remakes.

Would love to see Blade runner redone. Not that it needs it but with all the great new movie magic out now i bet it would be grand!!! Actor.......James Caviezel, Director Ridley Scott.  well Tony???

Blade Runner is such a classic I'd only be worried about someone screwing it up...but, hey, if Snyder can redo (re-invision is the term they like_ Dawn of the Dead and make a great movie, then I bet someone out there can re-do Blade Runner. Funny enough Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sleep is on the compuer desk shelf staring at me as I type...one of those books I am meaning to get to!

I totaly agree with your fear of a skrew-up. Most remakes suck. The Book you mentioned Do Androids Deam, sounds good. I will have to find that one. So Tony.....when is your next book do out?????????????

Some remakes are excellent!!

I would remake The Punisher.  With Dolph Lundgren.  Finally let him wear the skull and give the story an actual bodycount.  And an actual story.  :)

I'd make Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze.  The paperback series was a great favoriee of mine when I was a kid and the movie never lived up to the potential.  I'm not sure who to cast though :(  Chuck Conners in his prime would have been good...Dolph Lundgren had the right look but not the acting chops.

I'd also remake The Shadow
The Shadow.........Adrien Brody
Margot Lane.........Amanda Peet
Shiwan Khan.........Chow Yun Fat

Okay, how about a remake of LOGAN'S RUN?  Anyone be interested in that?

Ok, so here is my Logan's Run question.  Do you use the MOVIE as the source material? Or do you use the inferior books? I didn't like the books at all, for one  THERE WAS A SANCTUARY! WTF? There was more than one city and those were connected by the tubes, which I also didn't really like.

BTW I LOVE the original film.

Here is one of my favorite films that would really be fantastic is remade correctly.

SOYLENT GREEN!

Come on, who is with me?

Oh, I would like to add. I wouldn't mind seeing Bruce Willis in Soylent Green, he has the ability to show that hopeless sort of expression that goes along with the film, like in 12 Monkeys. Jennifer Connolly would be nice as the " furniture ", though you really only need someone who looks good and can bring across that child-like quality.

I think the subject matter is very relavent to the times, as people are all into the enviroment and economy.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sleep is supposed to be the book Blade Runner is based on. I haven't read much Philip K. Dick; I read his Minority Report and it was a lot different from the Spielberg/Cruise movie, so I don't know what to expect as far as how it'll be like and different than Blade Runner.

Next book...if we're talking zombies Bruce, the plan is to write the Eden sequel this summer. Got other crap I have to get out of the way first that takes up all my writing time. It frustrates me because I want to be writing the Eden follow-up, but all my ideas are plotted out and written down, so I know exactly how the story is going to go...

Non-Zombie next book will be put out in a few months by Sense Publishers. They changed the title from Unrepentent Critical Pedagogy to something else at the request of my co-author, John Gerassi. If anyone has any interest in Che Guevara, Jean-Paul Sartre, the Spanish Civil War, the Movement (60), Black Panthers, blacklisting, etc., this book is right up their alley. Non-fiction, academic, but readable as hell (if I say so myself; all I contributed were some interviews with Gerassi and I selected and edited various of his works).

I concur 100%!
And I recently watched James Brolin in the car and besides thinking how derivative it is of the original Jaws in certain ways, I said to myself, this could be remade really well! But I'm still pulling for Hell Night and the Garth family!

I would love to see Enemy Mine remade with modern, non-campy visuals.

This IMHO is one of the best stories ever.

My choices for stars are pretty obvious when you think about it: Joe Flanigan (of Stargate Atlantis) as Davidge, and Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson as "Jerry."

I would love to see a remake of Soylent Green!

But, instead of Bruce Willis, I want to see Samuel L. Jackson directed by Spike Lee.  I think that would be awesome.  He he.

Man, I LOVE that movie, and so does my 9 year old, Sammy! He likes it when I call him "Zammis" instead of Sammy! Favorite quote in my household because of that movie: "You killed my brother Johnny!" LOL!

Yeah, if they remade it, I am afraid they would just make it all about the action and not the story. That's why it is so good; you are focused on the relationship and storyline instead of all the CGI, Michael Bay-like crap that ISN'T in it. I just love it - fond memories of watching it on HBO on Saturday nights with my mom and dad.
