Boy, I feel ignorant. I don't recognize any of these guys! (I am not so well read in certain areas of fiction)
most of the reads that i've grown to love were a complete accident. i started reading Robert B. Parker when it was the only book on the sub's library shelf left, and then i realized where i knew Spenser and Hawk from...the TV show,
Spenser, for Hire! "holy crap," i said to myself, then devoured the entire catalog.
Jim Butcher writes the Dresden files novels (Spenser meets Merlin), Joe Lansdale wrote
Bubba Ho-Tep, John Steakley wrote
Vampire$ (which is eighty billion times better than the John Carpenter movie), Murphy and Sapir started the Destroyer series (on which there was a movie based,
Remo Williams, the Adventure Begins) which i also stumbled upon, because i started reading the series on #100 after recognizing Remo Williams and Chuin's names on the book cover from that movie.
it's mostly accidental, and i love it.
