Jacob has helped me quite a bit and I sure sometimes wishes I would go away.   :clown:

Gee guys I missed something? What is going on?

After reading Zombie Diva' post I am some what lost but these other people Shocklines I assume its another publishing company or writers? Well it sounds like jealousies.

All I know is when hunting for some zombie loving material I found permuted press nothing else. And whats even cooler is I have been turned onto not just zombies and werewolves ( GOD I LOVE wolf men!) not to mention soy sauce injecting junkies! HA so of course new person to the party someone help me out and let me in on whats happening. Thanx!

So what, the wording was all wrong. Jacob and David Wong never intended to misrepresent anyone. They are both excited about an upcoming event, and if that person felt the need to correct someone, it could have been done with some tact and respect.

If I 'tact you tonight will you still respect me in the morning?

I'm teh n00b.  What is a Shocklines?

Shocklines was a VERY big small-press bookseller/stocker before it crashed due to the stocking of almost EVERY POD title that was out there (well, not every, but you get my point.) Matt, the guy who runs it, still maintains the forum, and it's notorious for having a lot of bad people. Not that Matt himself is bad; I know him and think he's a good guy. Some of the people who go on his forum aren't too nice though...

umm, no, not quite, Kody.  Matt allowed the board to dictate his business decisions and he lost a lot of respect because of it, hence he lost many, many customers.  When he banned certain individuals (his "bread and butter" authors) for really ridiculous, inconsistent reasons and allowed homophobic and racist comments to run rampant, his customer base left.  Not to mention, some of the most established and respected authors of the genre that were really serious about their craft decided to leave a place filled with wanabes and self-published prima donna asses.  The board was no longer about community but about the next senseless, idiotic "I'm right, you're wrong!  You poopie head!" degeneration thread.

edited to add:  While I haven't agreed with Matt's reasoning as of late, the guy still helped me out when I first started and I will always be grateful for that.

I didn't know the whole story. That makes more sense than what I was trying to explain, hehe. :D

not a problem.

Back in the day, shocklines allowed me to interact with some of my idols, so to speak, and was the place where I got some of the BEST advice on this business.  It's really sad to see what it has turned into.

Matt has always been cool to me.  I don't understand why he allows his board to operate like it does.  Heck a lot of the time I just post their to debate issues like "global warming" or the repeal of the gun ban in Washington D.C. and on both accounts you wouldn't believe the amount of people that buy into one and actually think it's a gun that kills people even though it's an inanimate object that just lays there.

Hmm. Funny Dale, I guess you missed out on my new hit story The Gun

THE GUN
By David Dunwoody

Charles woke up and all tired. "What I do today."?
He seen a gun on his table, his it was black and huge and full of ammo. "Got to trythis"Charles exclaim.
The gn got up and talked!"Has ha Charles, lets get loaded" and the gun loaded. It shot Charles face off.

Same here, Matt has always been cool to me as well, no issues there and I'm with you in wondering what the heck tends to happen on shocklines these days.  I've been following the gun ban thread (I'm just shaking my head at the crap being said and I know better than to even attempt to post) and watching you and thinking, "No, no, Dale...just walk away, buddy!"  I'm a proud gun owner myself and all for it, blah, blah and I keep a .45 in my beside night table, haha, but you are going to get absolutely NOWHERE in that thread.  I learned a long time ago to separate the author from his/her opinions in threads like that, they'll write about guns and but don't own or like them, lol  go figure.

Err, anyways back to this thread....

I haven't picked this book up yet but I'm itching to.  As soon as I get the advance check from Apex Publications, it's bought!
