And don't forget Mr. Meikle's "The Havenhome"!

An antho that might be fun to do would be zombies plus some other established horror creature.  The zombies could be enemies, allies, rivals for food, or they and the other could have some totally unexpected relationship.  Zombies and ghosts, zombies and vampires, zombies and Lovecraftean horrors, zombies and ghosts, zombies and Frankenstein's monster...

All kinds of possibilities.

i recently suggested to Jacob, who is the maven for all things post-apocalyptic, that he do a Thundarr the Barbarian anthology.

he's yet to write me back on that.

This idea came to me awhile ago.

Readers love the characters and universes that have already been written by Permuted's authors.   What about an anothology by established Permuted authors--stories set in the worlds that have already been created.  Example:  A short story set in the DBDA universe written by the author.  A short story set in the ESTE universe written by the author, etc.

This eliminates open calls.  And the audience is already there.  I think readers would love the hell out of something like this . . . revisting some favorite characters and worlds.  It might also encourage people who haven't read the novels to pick them up, too.   People, for example, who buy everything written by Kim Paffenroth might pick this up and discover another Permuted author in the process.  I'm using KP as an example.  It could be any of the authors.

Win.  Win.

An Ex-Heroes universe antho would be fun.

An Ex-Heroes universe antho would be fun.

That would be a short story collection . . .  still a good idea.

I was thinking of a sampler sort of thing, though.  The many lands of Permuted or something, but a story from the Ex-Heroes world would be great in a book like that.  It's part of the Permuted Universe.

Well it's not winning but I'd love to see an H.P. Lovecraft anthology or possibly one where it's things lilke "Dracula vs. Cthulhu." I like werewolves and vampires just fine, but the market is sort of saturated with both right now.

I confess, I did actually have a Twilight-Cthulhu outline half-written on my harddrive.

Poor girl falls for a family of Deep Ones and he learns to love his Fish Man self.

Of course, I also keep expecting a Youtube video of "pretty girl goes to confront man in woods about his being a vampire...is promptly killed."

What about an anothology by established Permuted authors--stories set in the worlds that have already been created.

this is win. except, i think it would be interesting to swap authors and universes, like drawing them out of a hat.

It might also be interesting to see how different authors dealt with the same event (or even characters) in their respective universes.

see? Bobbie's a genius.

i also thought it might be cool to write some crossover stories, if a suitable narrative device was available. due to a blip in the space-time continuum, people are ripped from their universes and deposited in others. St. George and Adam take on Snells' puppet horde, for the win!
