I've got to tell you again. Your drawings are awsome! A realism that really makes me envious.

I can't wait to see what you have done for Undead 2!

Thank you very much ... I still think I have a long way to go with my art (I still find on the best of days that the human figure is hell to master!)

I think the Undead 2 will be slightly different again (more like the second top image), I actually took a long break from doing any art ... I was told in parting words with my ex-girlfriend that my art is nothing more than commerically orientated shit (And thats the cut version!).  That was nearly five years ago ... and its taken me a long time to get that out, now I luckily married (nearly a year) to someone who says "Start showing people".  So here I am, Undead Artist (And loving every minute!).

Its been an inspiring trip doing some of the artwork for Undead 2, even though I still tend to be overtly worried that I'm not good enough or not happy enough with what I've done.  I look forward to see the book, holding it in my hand and reading it, looking at it and ultimately be very proud of everyone who has worked on it.

Yea, I know what you mean. I have done some work for gaming companies. I got paid for it, but what I really loved seeing was my stuff in books that are published and sold to others. You can't beat that!

And don't be worried about being good enough. I think everyone probably feels like that on most projects. And the stuff I do isn't ever as good as the image I have in my head. Your good! Don't worry about it.

Thanks Bret ... I am so keen to see Undead 2 (JACOB YOU BETTER SEND MY COPY BY EXPRESS! LOL).

I know what you mean, I was explaining to Jacob that this is probably been the biggest joy for me to illustrate ... and I've done a lot of work in the past.  But Undead 2 is ultimately something that I feel strongly about.  I got the biggest kick out of reading Shapiro's story ... it read like a million miles an hour and it took me roughly eight hours of concept sketches to even feeling remotely comfortable with an image ... but the end result is fantastic (I might be a little baise though!).

Here is some stuff that I found on my website. Done in 2001 (Skeleton) and 2003. I knew I had done some undead stuff - though not a zombie. I think I have a ghoul that I drew somewhere.  :o

By the was the AJ signature is for Andrew. It's my first name - though not the one I go by. That's how I use to sign stuff when I was working for the gaming publications in 2001 to 2003. Now I just sign Bret Jordan or BJ. Please....no smart ass comments about what BJ stands for!  >:(

Hey multi-talented artists!

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm helping to edit an anthology which is looking for cover art. I've already mentioned this in the Promote Yourself! thread, but I thought I should mention it here, too.

The antho is titled Fried! Fast Food, Slow Deaths

UPDATE: Just wanted to let you all know that the above-mentioned anthology is now closed to art submissions. We're still open to story submissions.

(It makes my head spin how fast this project is progressing! :P)

Agreed! We've been putting in way more time to this antho than I, for one, can afford. But I'm loving every minute of it and can't keep away from the project. Who knew that editing could be so much fun?  ;)

We just accepted the third story this evening -- I'm really impressed by the quality of submissions so far. I think a lot of them were accepted for the Maniac Press antho that fell apart a couple of months back, so we were bombarded with quality fiction almost immediately.

Hey, Nice art work here. Like Bret, Dyme has some very cool stuff. I kind of know what you mean about getting critiqued by your significant others. My wife absolutely hates my art and writing, no matter what the genera. According to her, it's all crap, crap, crap! My friends trip out that I could be with someone so against art, especially horror and graffiti art. But what the heck, you just got to make the best of it...I've learned in my experiences, that all too often women/spouses get very jealous of the arts, simply because it's just one more thing that takes your attention away from them. I could be wrong, but it certianly feels that way. Anyway, I got this older tale with a pretty decent piece of art I want to submit for the "Fast Food" thingee. It's called Lunch with Leonoir. I'll post it up somewhere. peace.
