Mr. Z.A. Recht, author of Plague of the Dead, has done us the honor of writing an introduction to Roses of Blood on Barbwire Vines. Among other things he says: "Reader, you haven't experienced zombies like the ones in this book before. I won't ruin a thing for you, but you're in for a treat. George A. Romero's zombies are cute, cuddly little kittens next to these aberrations. And the vampires? They aren't those cultured, lace-wearing wussies that Anne Rice made famous. These are dark, vicious killers--predators in the truest sense of the word. Take either one of these things and you would have the material you need for a grade-A work of horror fiction. Put them together, and the potential increases exponentially. Snell has exploited every last bit of this potential." How does that whet your appetite? Jacob

I’m officially declaring this thread the blurb/praise page, where I’ll post all the blurbs and bits of reviews I receive. For example, check out this awesome blurb by Walt Hicks, publisher at Hellbound Books:
"Welcome to D. L. Snell’s bleak, nightmarish world of vampires and zombies, of puppets and puppeteers, of humans and mutants. A bone-jarring, hellish trek into the morbid and bizarre, Snell’s trenchant novel serves up oceans of gore and an unimaginable body count, and yet beneath the ghastly layers, there’s plenty of character development, sharp dialogue and a perceptive view of human--and inhuman--nature. An often brutal--often darkly elegant--page-turning read."

Nearly finished it ... if I wasn't drawing the cover, I'd be solidly engrossed, and remove myself from existence so I could devote my time to reading it. I got to say its already quick pace just picked up speed and is travelling around mach 10!!! I'm up to the part ..... ahhh I can't say!!! But its really really impressive, I don't think I have every read a book with so much kinetic energy! Its a ripper of a book! Well done, David!!!!

Hey, when the book debuts, would you post your comments on Barnes and Noble and Amazon?

Sure will David, I have no problems in writing a review! I'm coming close to the end now ... and I'm dreading it. Only because I don't want it to end, its been a great read!

Awesome--thanks! When you finish the book, feel free to e-mail me if you want to discuss it in private. I would love to hear your plot-specific, spoiler-ridden thoughts I'm coming close to the end now ... and I'm dreading it. Only because I don't want it to end You could always do like Walt Hicks and Z.A. Recht and read it twice

Give me winter any day .... sure bets summer! In fact, I am much more productive in winter as an artist than I am in summer. I can't tell you how many times I have hand to re-draw things again in the night (being cooler!), due to my hand sticking to the art work and often ruining my inking!!!!

Hehehe, I prefer winter too, but it's just that I have stupid school and that I HAVE to go outside to get to a class . . . Blech! Winter . . . So nice, but so cold. Summer, so bright with cute kittens, but too hot!
