I think we're all evil over here at Permuted, and that's why we get along so well. We're, like, super villains and stuff.

Now that he's gone I kind of miss the little guy.  I don't think he was really evil, just misunderstood.

Me too, Jacob.  Me too.  Please, everyone, I've written Groundhog's obituary--please pay your respects.

Hey do you and Collin mind if I use the artwork you post in this thread...

That's fine by me. Sorry to take so long to respond. I got as busy as I expected to, and a bit more.

Here's the second sketch (3rd if you count the one that was totally wrong):

And what D.L. Snell had to say about it (and will be kept in mind for the final): "One thing I should mention about zombies at this stage of mutation: they can heal their wounds; they patch them with black tissue.  Another thing: the fetal heads have sparse hair, more like a few wires here and there.  That doesn’t detract from this image, though.  Very grotesque."

No new artwork yet. I've been kinda sidetracked. So sidetracked in fact that I neglected to pre-order 'Roses'. For some reason I was thinking I had at least another week. I'll be ordering it this weekend.

Okay, new artwork. This is a bit simpler in the linework than the other two because it's going to be finalized, and I prefer very little line clutter for that stage. If it goes like I have in mind it should look pretty good.

Here you go:

Looks wicked, Collin! The tentacles should be a bit slimmer, but you've just about nailed the look.  Love the extra head  Skull puppet from D.L. Snell's Roses of Blood

Well... even though I drew the cover (oh and the interior! nice surprise DL! And thanks for the signed copy), I have to say I love the cover ... there's something about holding it physical in my hands!  Now I'm off to read the book again!

Job well done ... Jacob and David!  Looks great ... and I love the typography for the chapter numbers (yeah yeah ... I like typography ... sue me! lol)

Yeah, very satisfied with the whole project.  You've been a big help, Stephen, and I mean outside your duties as the cover artist.  You deserve a round of applause yourself!

Lame, schmame.  I've got your signature on the book, and I fully expect to be able to sell the thing in ten years for a thousand bucks.  You could have given me a recipe for gorp, and I would have been happy.

Stage two of my version of Snell's zombie is done. Vector layers have been added. Now what remains is to add some line work, highlights, shadows and the slime drips and it should be done.
