Glad I had correct usage of "owned," as I thought "pwned" was the next level.

And there's a Stoker on the shelf already, so I just look at it and feel better whenever I want.

Cool!

I'm a newby with internet slang.  :(  Though I'm expecting to pick up more proficiency looking at this:  the LOLcat Bible.

Thom posted it on another thread.

Yes, the Judas book is by me, and I have noticed it sold well to public libraries. I hope you enjoy it.

Well, Kim, I'll say, and my story aside, I think History is Dead is a fantastic anthology.  I had not read that many zombie stories prior to this anthology, but I've read many horror stories, and many other short stories period, and History is loaded with fine material.  Also, I don't know all of the anthologies that made it to the final ballot, but one of them was Inferno edited by Ellen Datlow.  I have it in front of me now to read, and I've heard it is amazing.  For someone to have been in competition against, if one is to phrase it that way, Datlow is quite the legend.  No shame there at all.

I don't know what all the process was for History being on the preliminary ballot, but regardless I am proud of that for all of us.  It certainly sounds great to say that we area part of a Stoker-nominated anthology, even if it didn't make it all the way.  I hope the anthology Mike Hultquist and I are putting together gets at least that far along.

A technical but important point - please do NOT say it was "Stoker Nominated." Only those works on the final ballot can be called "Nominated" and I am trying to abide by every HWA rule.

And I am very glad that you are happy with the product. That is the main thing that I want - that the contributors can be happy and proud of what they're a part of.

Ah, well, in that case ... "Stoker-considered anthology"?   ;)  Seriously though, it is a great book.  It seems to be getting around on Amazon as well, where I know it has whipped the ass of some very well-known authors and editors repeatedly in its category.  Gotta love that.   ;D

I believe the HWA's statement is that "Stoker" may not be used to promote any work unless it reaches the final ballot. I don't mean to be all picky, but it is an organization I'd like to stay a part of and be active in it in the future.

And yes, I think the Amazon numbers are great, considering there've been hardly any reviews so far. I think momentum will continue to build.

That is a great honor. Kim is right. So what if you never see or hear of any awards. The main thing is that you put your best foot forward and got what YOU wanted . . . done.... That's my take on it....
