What's your favorite Permuted book?
« on: December 18, 2007, 12:10:08 AM »

Just wondering what everyone's favorite book from Permuted Press is?  I think mine is probably IT'S ONLY TEMPORARY.

... A good read, no doubt. I really enjoyed the bizarro slant and humour within IOT. However, I'm going to have to say that out of ALL Permuted's TOP DRAWER novels, my absolute favourite would have to be Bowie Ibarra's 'Down The Road: On The Last Day.'

The characters come alive to me, in that book. I almost felt bereaved on finishing the book, as I wouldn't be able to hang with them anymore... GREAT BOOK!  ;D

I'll second Wayne's choice of Bowie's book Down The Road, but my all time fave so far still remains Plague of the Dead, by ZA Recht!

It's a good read.

check out my review of it at REVENANT (http://www.revenantmagazine.com/BookReviews.htm). It's the second one down, after the review of another PERMUTED GEM, ROSES OF BLOOD ON BARBWIRE VINES...  ;)

I haven't read Every Sigh, The End

I've enjoyed every Permuted novel I've read. I started reading JDatE, but couldn't read it because I wasn't in the mood for humor. Probably won't be for a while, either. : (

I just won a copy of "Plague", I am really looking forward to reading it.  I'd have to say "Roses" but I'm a little bit biase on that one.  Loved Skin & Bones.

A tough choice to make...

I'm going to go with Twilight of the Dead though. The Black Berets are a pretty cool concept and I'm hoping to see more of them in the next book.

The Undead anthologies are pretty cool as well. They show off a variety of writing styles and plenty of cool characters. Great thing about an anthology is the mix of tales (if you don't like the first one, there are several more that might be what you are looking for).

Regards,

Matt

What's the verdict on Every Sigh, The End?

it's extremely original, and a hard one to discuss without giving away serious spoilers. your enjoyment of this may be affected by what you think you're getting before you crack it open. if you think it'll be traditional zombie, and that's what you are in the mood for, you'll have to work a bit at getting into it. if you're at all on the boards, or have read some ink on EStE already, you'll be freakin' happy. hornsby kind of dangles some things like a carrot on a stick for readers and you'll keep running to catch it as you read. keeps your ass on the ball, it does!

LOL--it's good to see Roses at least mentioned in this topic.

Every Permuted book I've read has been great. Bestial was a fun read for sure, as was Dying to Live.  JDATE, while it graced our catalog, was also fun. Hell, they're all good! Even Roses.

It's a great book, DL. You should be proud.
