Hey, "Adam Repentant guy", I'm messing with this color program I got and doing a colored verison of the art I did for your story. You got an e-mail address? ...Maybe I can send it to you when I'm done. Peace. Riddle.

P.S Here's a blurb for "I'm Rick James, Bitch!"

"An aspiring funk artist sets his hopes on getting a record deal in a high-powered music company, but after being rejected by a prejudice executive, the only one that can avenge him is the grandmaster of funk himself--via the undead plague, of course."

A question for Jacob:

Will all the stories in U2:S&B be illustrated?

Um...I guess what I'm really asking is, will my story be illustrated?  ::)

Heh, it's hard not to sound a little pathtetic asking, but hell, I wanted to know so I'm taking the risk.

Hey Joel, DL! I'm glad you like my zombies! I mentioned in another thread that I've been too chicken to try painting them, but maybe I'll give it a shot here real soon. I have a Lovecraftian critter that I want to attempt making out of the same stuff, especially since I found a neat way of creating tentacle suction cups using a ballpoint pen. I'll keep you posted!

It's looking like most of them will be but I can't say for sure right now if all of them will be.

Reading the teasers so far has gotten me even more jazzed for Undead 2. Here's one for "Brownlee's Blue Flame":

Since the dawn of Man, the Grim Reaper has marked the passing of life. It's an endless, thankless job, but one he was made for - then things change. A dead man has fallen off of Death's radar and still seems to be walking the Earth. It won't be long before there are many, many others...

I've got a question: How did you authors come up with a twist on the zombie genre? What went through your head, in other words.

I wanted to submit a versus story for Undead 2 and I kicked around ideas like zombies vs aliens, zombies vs ghosts, but nothing really clicked until I figured: who would be the most offended by people that refuse to die? ;)

I'm very excited to see Undead 2 in my hands ... as an artist on board, I've had the chance to read some of the stories (the ones that I've been asked to illustrate), I can't wait to complete the puzzle (I hope it isn't like "The Lament Configuration" cube).  Dave D. you awesome ... I haven't tried to draw a ***** (removed to avoid giving away too much) in a long time, and to draw it as a zombie!!!!! Fantastic stuff ... I am up to my ninth page of sketches which would make that around 40 sketches so far!!!!!  I seriously would not like to come across one of your zombies!!!

Hey Jacob,

I was wondering....Why did you decide to add artwork to the Undead 2 Anthology? And what sort of challenges is it creating for you?

No really deep reason... I just thought it would be fun and make the book cooler.  :)

And what sort of challenges is it creating for you?

It hasn't been a major challenge.  All the artists have been great and super-easy to work with.  But, it does add another level of things to keep track of, stay on top of, more people to communicate with, etc.  But it has definitely been worth the extra effort.  We've got some awesome pieces of art!

Do you think you will be using more internal art in your future publications? If you do I think you will have a lot of us artists volunteer again. I can't speak for everyone, but it sounds like we have all enjoyed working with you on this project.

I'd say there's a pretty good chance we'll try it again on our next anthology.  :)
