Edited because Eric was a bad boy and asked a question he shouldn't have! :)

It will be at least spring '07.  Hopefully no later than summer '07.

I've got a question: How did you authors come up with a twist on the zombie genre? What went through your head, in other words.

Two simple words provided the inspiration for my entire 8k submission

Oh, come on--it's an anagram!!!
I didn't want to give too much away before finding out whether I made it into the final cut....Which, of course, is looking ever more remote as the end of September approaches.

Good point.  Authors, don't answer my previous question, unless you can do it without spoiling your story. Or add a SPOILERS warning at the start of your post.

For my story, Something Fishy This Way Comes, I thought it would be fun to view the zombie apocalypse from the eyes of a self-pitying 15 year-old pop culture junkie filled to the brim with out-of-control hormones and a serious case of A.D.D. In other words, me (at fifteen, anyway).

As it turns out, it was a lot of fun to write. And it's meant to be a comedy, so hopefully you'll all have a lot of fun reading it, too. (He said nervously...)

And since we're talking about anagrams, I just found out what my full name can be rearranged as: "Enthrall an odd, sexual jeer."  :o

I have have been lucky enough to be able to read it, so I could draw one of the scenes, and it was a fun read.

Sooo.....how long have you been rearanging the characters in your name?  ???

I agree with Bret, in terms of feeling lucky to be able to read some of the stories so I can determine what illustration I will do.  I've had five solid years of doing cover illustrations and  5 9cm by 9cm illustrations for a monthly magazine, but not once did I ever feel challenged (inspiration to the ink-boys and girls).

Everything changed when I received story one, it was a chance to do an illustration that I have never in my life attempted (hat off to Scott Standridge! Thanks Mate!) and then I received story two by Eric Shapiro and he totally mad me very uncomfortable in the sense he gave something that I really really have never tried to do (I am very pleased with the end result of the image)

I am eagerly awaiting the final publication.
