What's your favorite story (or stories) from THE UNDEAD 1?

One story that always sticks out in my mind from Undead is Wellington's Chuy and the Fish. That was a good read.

Of course, there were plenty of other stories that were excellent, but that squid was damn gross.

Completely agree.  The Wellington tale was the cream of a classic collection.

Just don't ask what my SECOND-favorite story was.

My favorite is definately Pale Moonlight...closely followed by Undead Prometheus. But after reading Jesus Freaks, the story Like Chicken for Deadfucks definately holds a place in my decaying heart.

I loved Pale Moonlight! (Of course, there's a special place in my heart for that Death Row story... ;D). I also liked Chuy and the Fish. Hell, the whole collection was quality stuff. It's like asking me to pick my favorite stripper...they all got somethin' special about 'em!!!

Horrorview, ShawnRzombi,

Thanks for supporting “Pale Moonlight.”  I’ve written another story in the same universe, “Suzy Polenski’s Panties.”  It’s still under consideration for The Undead: Skin & Bones, so hopefully it makes it in.  My novella, “Skin & Bones,” has already been accepted   ;D

Thanks for supporting “Pale Moonlight.”

Any plans to expand Pale to a novel like you did "Limbless Bodies Swaying"?

Possibly.  I started a novella expansion a few years back, but some of the subplots aren’t very unique.  For example, one of the characters is on a road trip to unite with her sister; it’s the familiar “travel to a loved one” scenario done so well in Brian Keene’s The Rising and several other zombie stories.  For the “Pale” novella or novel to work, I would have to change that entire subplot, which, as of now, takes up about fifty percent of what I’ve already written.

Currently, I’m invested in other projects, other novels, but that doesn’t mean, somewhere down the road, I won’t come back to the “Pale” expansion.  I’ve always wanted to find out what happens to Nathan after (spoiler) he escapes the farmhouse, so . . . maybe I could combine his story with that of the characters from “Suzy Polenski’s Panties” and just scratch the other unoriginal subplot.  Who knows?

Off the top of my head, I really enjoyed "Ann at Twilight", "Chuy and the Fish" & "13 Ways of Looking at the Living Dead". Thumbing through the book right now I've got the sudden urge to go and read it all again.

Yep, I gotta go with Chuy and the Fish, too. Something about the writing style really engaged me from the first word. And the fact that a lot of people are picking it says a lot, as it was bound in a collection with so much fine fiction.

My copy of the book all the way downsatirs and I'm really lazy, but another story that stays with me was the one from the pov of a female zombie as she and some other zoms begin to approach a small town of people, getting shot and pissed off. I think it was by a female author. Quick, let's see who can be the first to tell me the name of what I'm thinking of!!!

That's "Dead World" by Meghan Jurado.  Both Meghan and David Wellington have stories in the seqeul.

That's the one -- loved it! Definitely looking forward to her second offering! Same goes for David Wellington. Can you give us any hints as to what their stories are about? I understand if you don't want to give too much away.

They're both very different than the stories they each had in THE UNDEAD 1.  David Wellington's is a Lovecraftian take on zombies that, to my knowledge, no one has ever done before.

Now you've really piqued my interest. Can't wait to see the twist.
