I am about to be setting many stories in this universe. There will be "Heaven's City," which will be those survivors who live in the sky, moving from one building to the next via planks and pulleys, while the dead clambor beneath them.

Hey, RC, the 'Heaven City' title is perfect! It's funny, but when the Undead2 submissions first opened up, I had a brainstorming session with my brother and he suggested a story where city-dwellers had taken to the rooftops to escape the bloodthirsty masses below. You two must've got struck by the same lightning bolt! I loved the concept, but I already had 1/2 the story for The Finger so I went ahead with that instead. If you want a zombie fix, check out my web site NewHorrorFiction.Com. You can read my story The Hoax, or check out some of my zombie sculptures.

Incredible, I will check out your fiction tonight. Right now, I'm catching a breather from  students. I am a high school english teacher--lucky for my students I support main stream fiction. My 11th graders are working on the "Man in the Black Suit" by Stephen King.

When I get away from here, I'll get my fix (zombie fix, that is).

Wierd that your brother and I had the same thought. I"m hoping to find some time when I can work on my writing again. Being my first year as a teacher, I'm pretty swamped.

Just jumping in to say I wish you'd been MY teacher.  Not that I didn't like some of the stuff I read in school but it would have been great to read Stephen King in class. :] (Instead of sneaking it under my text book).

I agree with JeesiB! All I remember from high school is Catcher and the Rye, Death of a Salesman, The Old Man and the Sea... We had to write reports on them in the computer lab and I used to swipe my best friend's disk (he had the class before me) and change stuff around, so his title "MacBeth's Quest for Power" would become "MacBoob's Quest for Potatoe Chips". He got me back, though, by changing my Catcher and the Rye report to be about Sega's Toejam and Earl... Ah, good times.

Hey, Left... I was wondering if you'd give us a blurb from 'Memory Bones'? And forgive me if you already have... I guess I'm too lazy to go search the backlogs  8)

The blurb for 'Memory Bones'...? Jeez, this is tough.

"Dr Messinger, a young GP, is called out on a home-visit to a bed-ridden patient named Mr Lode, who makes extravagant claims as to his age and origins. Messinger debunks these claims and writes them off as symptoms of mental illness, but as the visit wears on, and Messinger hears more of the patient's story, he struggles to retain his scientific objectivity."

That's all folks. Trust me, it's better than it sounds!  ;D

Yeah, that is tough.  It's a tough one to say much about without spoiling it.

Ditto, here! That blurb alone was like something out of a Lovecraft story!

Speaking of Lovecraft . . .

Just wanted to let everyone know that Permuted Press will publish my first novel, Roses of Blood on Barbwire Vines. It mixes vampires with zombies and a touch of the Lovecraftian (tentacles anyone?). Visit the thread for a summary and other information.

The future website, www.rosesofblood.com (coming soon!), will offer an excerpt from the prologue and the first half of chapter one (2,600 words), and The Undead: Skin & Bones will excerpt chapter four with a brief setup description (2,600 words)--just an extra treat for the readers  ;D

I suppose I am an optimist but until I am officially told that I have been rejected, or the book comes out I will keep my fingers and legs and arms and toes crossed. (Now I will probably get the email this evening telling me that they read this post and they want to make it official.)  >:(

Wow... someone else from Coventry! What're the odds of two folk from Coventry submitting to the same anthology?
