ZOMBIE SIGHTINGS
« on: October 27, 2006, 09:00:19 PM »

I wanted to post this section as a heads up alarm for TV programs, films, books, and comics that will be out and about. Feel free to add your sightings to this post.

This week's sightings:

Dawn of the Dead 2004 is being aired on the Bravo network this halloween weekend

The History Channel has finally devoted a special all about zombies, featuring commentary by Brian Keene, and actual actors from the original Night of the Living Dead and the Serpent and the Rainbow.

Necropolis (Return of the Living Dead related) is shedualed as an option for PPV

Dawn of the Dead (Romero's uncut version) has been rereleased on DVD and also available at your public library...for free I might add

Also available at the public library on DVD: "I am Legend" "Day of the Dead" "Evil Dead" "Land of the Daed" and one I highly recommend, "Document of the dead" -- an actual documentary following the progress of the making of Romero's Dawn of the Dead.

Marvel is producing a series called "Zombies" (Creative naming there!) its drawn by Kyle Holz.  Who I think is great!  Of course there are a ton of zombie comics from IDW (Remains, Shaun Of The Dead and a lot more) or check out Black Gas (Its a really cool comic).

Cool...What is "IDW'? Is there a website that I can go to check out their comic releases? The only zombie type books I seen at my Chicago based comic shops are an old edition of Night and a few cool EvilDead issues by Jason Scott Cambell. I heard Kelly Jones had a zombie book out, but I don't know the title.

IDW is an independant publisher, which does have a website ... just google "IDW COMICS", they have tons of horror comics like the 30 Days series (does an awesome job of re-inventing vampires. everyone should check)

These guys deserve more attention ... I have bought a lot of their trade paperbacks and they always hit the spot.

I don't know about Kelly Jones doing a new zombie story (I could be wrong here), but he is in the works of doing "The Messengers" film adaption.  He did do a zombieworld one shot which is now in a tradepaperback called "Zombieworld: Winter's Dregs".

Cool, I'll check out that site. Yeah, about Kelly Jones, I mean to say he had  a zombietype book out a while ago. I never seen it, but I'm sure it's the one you mentioned. That guy has a real gothic style to his work, so anything from him and Arthur Suydam is bound to be spellbinding.

Actually Kelly Jones did a comic called Deadman.  Its in a collection (tradepaperback) which is mind numbingly fantastic, which is in my top ten trades.  Its worth the buy!  So amazing stuff.
