An "epic" death wouldn't have fit the tone of the film. But if you're the villain who's carried the entire flick up to this point - and been imbued with a fair amount of ambiguous depth in your final few minutes on screen - you deserve a demise a bit more meaningful than BOOMSPLATWISECRACK. It's almost like they did it as an afterthought. I wasn't even sure he was really dead yet, he was shrugged off so dismissively. The fourth-banana baddie who got sent out onto the ice got a more memorable death scene than Bane did.
