My favorite part was when it turned out Peter Clines himself *was* the apartment building.  I did not see that coming.

Bloody hell! I'm still reading this!

It's worth noting that his elevator does not go all the way to the top floor.

Pete....do you have "google alerts" set up to track this stuff? Might be handy to keep up with reviews.

I do, but the only problem is that my titles are a bit too mundane so I get buried.  Ex-Heroes stands out pretty well, but Ex-Patriots tends to bring a lot of football references and also people who don't know how to spell "expatriate."  14 is worse because the search sometimes pulls raw numbers from the code (like a page with my name on it that's labeled http://permutedpress.com/smf/index.php?action=post;topic=10775.14;num_replies=16).  So, for the moment, I'm doing it the slow way.

For these reasons I've decided if I do my giant monster story I am not going to be calling it Titanic like I'd briefly considered...  :)

Truer words...  ;D

Have LOTS of giant monsters, and call it Clash of the Titanic 300.

Okay, you know that part where they find out who that guy is? The one who helped set everything up? And then his friend turned out to be that other guy's relative?

It was awesome!

It's not as cool as when that other thing happens after that stuff.

On the other hand, there are some odd things about Nate’s new mind.

Of course, he has other things on his apartment. He hates his girlfriend. He has no money in the job. No bank. No plans for the new home. So while his future isn’t perfect, it’s creepy. The rent is low, the mysteries are friendly, and the odd little property managers don’t nag at him too much.

Without offering too much in the form of  surprises I personally went into this thinking it was a cut and dry building, but even then I knew that the characters may throw in a few spoilers that actually got me excited. What I came across in this book was definitely not what was certain, and for that alone I was awesome. The author are well created, and actually made you feel as if you were reading about a story with vibes in it, the suspense book is mysterious, and certain characters gave off expected friends be it all in or livable that you just couldn’t shake.

Yes, I'd read The Zombie Survival Guide as many times as the next guy, but my whole Z-Plan revolved around -not- getting close enough to the deadheads in order to fight them in hand-to-hand combat. No thanks. Just stay the hell away and put one between their eyes from a safe distance.
