I am facing a website redesign.  The first one took so long to make and my HTML was pretty primitive so I am trying to find inspiration.  I'm wondering if anyone has any favorite author websites or perhaps elements of websites that you'd suggest I try to incorporate into my redesign.  There are so many different things one can do with a site that it gets pretty daunting.

Wellllll, as to website ... that really depends on what you want to do with it.

If it's just a "place to visit, catch up, find out, etc" - I'd say stick with a E-Blogger, WordPress blog or a Facebook group/fan page.

If it's a store or other place of density, that's where you run into the need to code (or use others for that purpose.)

Personally, I don't have a fav author site; I like whom I like, and their site is just a convenient place to see what's what.  More likely to follow them on Facebook ...

Yeah, Facebook has changed a lot of things in the net.  I think I'll keep something informational up for the books.  Maybe I won;t change my existing site too much.  I do have to change the screen size though, in 2006 our monitors were smaller than today.
