Fallout: New Vegas DLC
« on: August 17, 2012, 02:39:47 AM »

Anyone tried these out?

Dead Money sucked.

Old World Blues was simultaneously HILARIOUS...and deeply deeply disturbing.

It's like someone took every deranged idea in Permuted Press and molded them together.

Honest Hearts was actually moving.

I haven't played Lonesome Road yet, though.

I really liked the trailer for Old world Blues.

I will wait for Steam to release it together with promo price. I hope they are better then Mothership zeta from FO3. Also less bugged. The Pitt prevented me from finishing main game.

Honest Hearts sounds like my kind of DLC judging by your review.

If you are right about Dead Money it's a damn shame I think it was first DLC released and it looked promising.

It was quite enjoyable (HH) and I think everyone should pick it up.

Dead Money is something I suspect people will find to be an acquired taste.

Here's my review of Old World Blues.

I don't like any add-ons changing gameplay of the main game. I'm ok with new enemies, maps and weapons, but that's it. I was never a fan of fan made mods, even if it means I won't meet a Deathclaw with Gatling laser ;)

I liked The Pitt and Point Lookout.

Final DLC review: http://unitedfederationofcharles.blogspot.com/2012/08/fallout-new-vegas-lonesome-road-dlc.html

I confess, I tend to agree. Too many DLC tend to spoil the broth with unearned power ups.

Non-Faction Ranger Armor like on the Cover? Good.

Super-Cybernetics? Bad.

I think the OWB adds on are a little too "nifty" for the games and the Dead Money vending machines (basically, you get a machine which makes Stim Packs, Med-X, etc from Casino chips - which wouldn't be bad if not for the fact you get a regular supply of Casino Chips in the mail from that point on.

The Sink, by contrast, isn't THAT game breaking since the teleporter isn't that much different from Fast Travel but it still feels pretty damn out there.

Still, it doesn't solve the BIG issue of headquarters. Which is that I have to go to the North Vegas Gate, go through it, go into the Lucky 28 Hotel, GO INTO IT, and then recruit my Followers individually. I'd love a home base where I can just go in and get them when I want to switch them out.

Well... I have to finish Deus Ex, Alpha Protocol and Dead Space but I've purchased those add-ons and I will explore new territories at some stage. Always was a fan of tribals in FallOut 2.

Both Deus Ex and AP are awesome.

Never played Dead Space.

If you have a great game and instead of doing quests you are wandering, hunting geckos and sitting at the campfire then this is epic. Fnv is like FO2 of new era.

Dead Space looks decent. I miss System Shock 2 and DS looks alike.
