I'm doing the 3rd volume of Horror, Humor, and Heroes. This one will be New Faces of Science Fiction and I'm open for submissions. Volume 2 (New Faces of Fantasy) exceeded my expectations and as a result I plan on doing a new volume each year.
Here's the nitty gritty -
Word count - up to 5000 words
Deadline - End of August
Anticipated publication date - End of October to November
Editor - me
Publisher - my imprint (EJB)
Payment - $50 one time fee (ie no royalties)
Rights acquired - First worldwide English language rights for paperback, ebook, and audiobook distribution. (Not sure if I would really do an audiobook, but don't want to limit myself.) Exclusive rights for one year from publication date of book or ebook (whichever comes first.)
Reprints - no thanks
Here's what I want.
Original science fiction. It doesn't matter if it is soft sci-fi or hard sci-fi. It just has to be an entertaining story.
