My name is Carlos Sisí and I am the author of The Wanderers, a zombie novel recently published by Permuted Press. First and foremost I would like to say that English is not primary language. I speak good enough english to battle in the trenches, but for your convenience, my book was translated to English by an American
I have to give BIG thanks to Wayne "FLU" Simmons for polishing my English a bit
On the subject...
THE WANDERERS was originally published in Spain in December 2009 by Dolmen Editorial. Thanks to the word of mouth, the book slowly gained momentum and began to appear in all the major sales points like the FNAC franchise. The 12th edition of the book was just printed recently. Two years later and the book has sold tens of thousands of copies and has been translated into English, for release through PERMUTED PRESS.
THE WANDERERS tells the story of a group of survivors in Spain dealing with the zombie apocalypse. Whilst writing the first draft of the book, I concentrated mostly on the zombie action. After some time I realized I was in need of something special, something new, and thus, the character of Father Isidro was born. I will not say too much about him so as not to spoil the story for you, but Isidro became a horror icon for many Spanish readers, sometimes compared (much to my pleasure) with Darth Vader or the Boogey-man He has been captured in dozens of pieces of fan art, and reimagined by several professionals on the comicbok scene. He has been baked as a cake, made into a crochet puppet and engraved in wood and clay. Some of these things were sent to me as gifts I have them on display on my shelves, so when I see them I can say to myself, “I did something good there”.
The success of the book allowed me to continue exploring the world of THE WANDERERS. The original book has a fair and honest end: it does not leave you with a TO BE CONTINUED sort of message, subtle or not. But the situation where the survivors found themselves at the end was interesting enough to warrant a second book, so the publisher and I decided to create a trilogy.
NECROPOLIS was published a year after and raised the interest in the saga to a much greater lever. Reviews and interviews started to appear everywhere, and a year later (October 2011) the third and final book HADES NEBULA was published. Now there’s a lot about THE WANDERERS world which I cannot reveal as yet, but I am sure it will delight many readers.
So… from me. I would be honoured were you to grab your own copy – on paperback or ebook – and join Juan Aranda and the rest of survivors in their adventures throughout zombie-infected Spain. It’s maybe a different setting than what you are used to, and hopefully an exciting one.
You can find the book on Amazon, Barnes & Nobles and all the usual places. Here are all the links you might need : http://permutedpress.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=132
You might also want to use the Facebook page. It is primarily Spanish, but I will reply in English to all posts in this language, of course: http://www.facebook.com/LosCaminantes
It is full of interesting pictures uploaded by me or the readers, including the locations of the novel. And last but not least, the website itself on http://www.thewanderersnovel.com/
Finally, if you want to ask any question or discuss about the book, please feel free to use this thread and forum - I will be only too delighted to reply.
