Do people dispose of them, though?  I have one friend who's a romance addict and she's got a bookshelf packed with them.

I do agree it's a perfect market, though.  I'm surprised more comic books and magazines haven't leaped on board, rather than make these odd deals and arrangements.

Now that the 2 primary devices ("Nookle") both have a good full-color option, this may not be far behind.  Magazine-reading is being heavily promoted as one of the reasons to buy a Kindle Fire.

If not by the end of this year, the very latest next year, one should expect that all of the major comic book publishers to be producing both physical product and E-product.  One should expect that the print run of the physical product will begin to taper down in quantity, to satisfy the collector's "need to own exclusivity" and the E-version to be available with utmost availability.

One has heard the stirrings ... one has seen the ink drying upon the screen ...

They're trying to do it now, but it seems like they're shooting themselves in the head by 1) striking exclusive deals for formats and 2) charging the same for the ebook version as the paper.   :-[

My local newspaper is one of the front-runners that restricts full access to its online content to subscribers.  Insiders are supposed to get the whole shebang, include iPad version--not sure if there's a separate Nookle edition.

I'm a dinosaur, I almost never look at the online content except when I am not at home and am reminded of something I wanted to refer back to.  I like getting newsprint on my elbows in the morning.

I visit the New York Times on line almost every day.  I have yet to buy a subscription, but then again, it has been years since I bought a print issue.  I limit myself to the twenty free articles available each month.

I've noticed that the quality of the ads has increased dramatically of late.  Some are worth watching.
