Anyone else addicted to this show? I'm liking the setting, story, and the mysteries of the house.

Never heard of it, but I tend to be instantly cynical of anything that has "American" as the first word of its title. It's become kind of a cliche, and it generally doesn't mean anything. American Beauty could just as well have taken place in France or England. The psycho in American Psycho may well have been American, but did that really need to be pointed out in the title? I suppose American Gods would be an exception, since that was actually a direct reference to what the story was about, but other'n that...

(This pointless rant from the guy who brought you "What's the deal with Lost?" and "Star Trek is arse." We now return you to whatever Crusis was talking about before I started threadjacking.)

American Beauty could just as well have taken place in France or England.

Worth pointing out that "American Beauty" is a specific hybrid variety of rose, which I think was the point of reference in that particular title; that, and the intentionally ironic fact that nothing at all even vaguely beautiful happened in the story.

Lemme see if I can sum up the show - some spoilers but I think you will get most of this in the first episode.

A couple with the typical dysfunctional teenage girl move into their dream house. The husband is a bit of a sleezbag, he boinked a girl and got caught by the wife. They move across the country to start over.

Jessica Lange plays a neighbor with a mongoloid daughter (it hasn't even gotten weird yet)
They hire a maid who appears differently to the wife and hubby. Wife see's the Mom from Six Feet Under. Dad see's a smoking hot red head that wears skimpy clothes and is always coming on to him.
There is a tall guy that keeps showing up in bondage gear.

Home invasions by serial killer fans, back story from families that have previously lived in the house, Zachary Quinto as a pissy queen, and a crazy half burned dude that claims he was let out of jail, after murdering his family, because he has a terminal disease.

The show has some genuine scares, gore, sex, violence, serial killers, and a stellar cast.

Love this show!

I'm two episodes behind but I hope to catch up tonight. I love all the gore, man, FX did not hold back. The brain eating episode was just sublime. LOL!

I think I am 2 behind as well. I will DVR a series and not watch it until I am sure the asshats in charge won't pull a show before it gets a chance to prove itself. Just started Falling Skies recently as well.
